I"ll Return RTU To Premier League - Hamza

RTU Belong To The Premier League Not Division One – Former Black Stars Player

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Real Tamale United legend, Hamza Mohammed has set for himself a task of returning the Tamale based division one club back to the top flight of Ghanaian football – Ghana premier league.

The pride of the North as the club is referred to have been out of the league since the 2012/13 season and have been battling to return and take their ‘rightful’ place. Hamza, a former player of the club is currently the head coach and has pledged to return the club amid its financial difficulties.

Mohammed, who was member of the Ghana national under-17 football team at 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship in Nigeria said in an interview, “is been very difficult for the club in the last three seasons or so because we had some little challenge with our sponsor – WIENCO that is why we find ourselves in the division one.

He addedd, “not playing in the top flight for some time now is very bad for our great club especially if you are in indigene (local/native) and a former player, so that is why we have all decided to come back to help the club stage a strong come back to the premier league.”

The 35 – year old former Black stars midfielder was part of the Ghanaian 2002 and 2006 African Nations Cup teams.
