AGYEMANG BADU ACKNOWLEDGE FANS AFTER COMOROS WIN

Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has commended fans at the Baba Yara Sports stadium after a hard earned 2-0 over Comoros in the prelims of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.


The Udinese defensive midfield dynamo acknowledged the affection shown hy the teaming fans at the Baba Yara Sports stadium even in the midst of torrential down pours.


The Black Stars sealed progress into the third round of the CAF qualification route to Russia 2018 with a 2-0 win at the expense of gallant Comoros.


The versatile Agyemang Badu commended the fan base of the Black Stars for their unrelenting support.


The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder beleives the presence of the fans and the desire to book a place in Russia spurred the Black Stars on.



Agyemang Badu then acknowledged the thread posed my their guests and the desire of the Black Stars to qualify for their fourth successive FIFA World Cup in Russia 2018.


Badu said, “Today is a working day but some of the fans came to support us in the rain and it was wonderful. We had a great game though the first half was very difficult for us.


“They are very tactically and technically disciplined and rely on counter attacks which we didn’t allow them any space to play. We got a number of chances and this is the beginning of the road to Russia 2018.”


Badu missed an early chance to open the scoring under one minutes but goals from Mubarak Wakaso and Jordan Ayew sealed a 2-0 win for the brave Black Stars.



The Stars will join nineteen other qualifiers for the final groupings en route to Russia 2018.
