Awudu Issaka doubts league will start on February 20

Former Under-17 sensational attacker Awudu Issaka is not sure whether the 2016 domestic top flight can kick off on the February 20 as scheduled.

The 1995 FIFA U17 world champion pleaded with the stakeholders to stop their legal tussles in the interest of Ghana football.

The domestic top flight has been tentatively slated to kick off from February 20 despite the threats of imminent injunctions from a section of Ghanaians.

The soberly speaking Awudu Issaka pleaded with the grieved sections to allow the league unfolds after a long period of hibernation.

Awudu Issaka called on the club administrators to factor in the plight of the players before any further injunction is placed on the league.

“The PLB has proposed a date but what we are praying for now is that God should let the season kicks off as sheduled.

This is because when the day is drawing closer you will see somebody bringing in new problems (injunctions on the league) but we are praying against such move in the near future.

“If these people put their problems across I think it will delay the league and it will be very tough again”, Issaka told sports crusader exclusively”. He noted.
