"Contractual differences prevented me from joining Ifeanyi Ubah"- Coach Yussif Abubakar

Experienced trainer Coach Yussif Abubakar has revealed that, contractual differences between him and Ifeanyi Ubah prevented him from joining the Nigerian Premier League side.


The former Hearts of Lions was offered a contract for the vacant managerial job with the NPL, but he declined the offer due to differences in philosophies.


The ace trainer has since returned to the country and look set to steer Techiman City in the upcoming campaign.


The former trainer at the National Sports College was rumoured to have been very close to joining Ifeanyi Ubah but the veteran trainer opted out due to differences between the two parties.


The former Heart of Lions trainer mutually parted ways with the Kpando based side at the end of the 2014/15 FCPPL season but his unique managerial skills still makes a hot cake in the sector.


“I did not join Ifeanyi Ubah because of certain differences which we failed to agree. I came close to signing for the Nigerian side but we could not iron out our differences in the latter stages of the negotiation. I still like them for their professional manner in which they behave and will keep in touch as well. This is football and things like these are bound to occur.” Coach Yussif Abubakar told sports crusader exclusively.


The former Heart of Lions is renowned for his eagle eyes in spotting talents and was reportedly on the wanted list of Accra Hearts of Oak in the off season. Yussif Abubakar however look destined to lead Techiman City in their maiden topflight season after advancing negotiation with Charles Kojo Ntim’s premier league newbies.
