Avram Grant insists Sulley Muntari’s absence from the Black Stars yeam is not being sorely missed.

The former Inter and AC Milan man has been handed an indefinite suspension from the team after attacking a Ghana FA official at the 2014 World Cup.

Muntari is required to render an apology before he is considered again for national team selection.

Ghana have since the World Cup gone for to coming within a penalty kick to winning the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

The team has now begun another journey towards qualification to the 2018 World Cup with a goalless draw away to Comoros.

Avram Grant who took over the Black Stars in December last year however feels the absence of Christian Atsu from his team due to injury is being felt more than that of the experienced Sulley Muntari.

“Muntari is not the squad. The player that we miss is Atsu,” he said.

“He [Sulley Muntari] is a wonderful, best player but he was injured so he couldn’t play.”
