Deputy skipper of the senior national team, the Black Stars, André Morgan Rami Ayew has praised the Garden City fans for their spirited supported that helped them to a 2-0 win over the Les Coelecantes of the Comoros at the Baba Yara Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

“The fans were great and they were behind us from the beginning right till the final whistle.”

Before the game there was mixed reaction from the Garden City as to whether the fans would turn up massively for the game, however, according to the Swansea ace although the stadium was not full to the brim as was in the case in the past, the few that came gave a good account of themselves and support the team to the much needed victory.

“Yes the stadium was not full but the few that found their way to the stadium on this raining afternoon supported us to victory and for the team their support is greatly appreciated.”

He believed that in subsequent games the fans would come out in their numbers and support the team.

On the team’s chance in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, the aspiring 2015 BBC African footballer of the year stated that “now that we are heading to the third round we must keep the team focus and spirit on a high and make sure we win all our matches to make it to the Mundial in 2018.
