The Management of SIC Insurance Company Limited – the leading insurance company in Ghana and the leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) will on Friday, November 20, pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at Manhyia, Kumasi.
SIC Insurance Company will be led by Mr. Kwei Mensah Ashidam, Ag. Managing Director of SIC with Mr. Kwabena Yeboah leading the SWAG delegation.
The visit forms part of activities earmarked by SIC ahead of the match and also support the Otumfuo Educational Fund.
A statement from the secretariat of SWAG said, SIC will the visitation to officially inform the Asantehene about the 2015 SIC Nyemitei SWAG Cup Match and to donate to the Otumfuo Education.
The statement said, the visitation will also be used to renew a personal insurance policy for the Asantehene from the insurance giants.
Nana Yaw Mantey, Head of Corporate Affairs Department of SIC said, there was the need for them to visit the great king to show him respect and courtesy and inform him about the match as well.
“As the Asantehene we owe him a great respect and honour and such an important function cannot take place in the kingdom without his knowledge”. Nana Mantey stated.
He said SIC will be counting on the support of the great king to boost their activities in Kumasi as well as promote the match.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko and league champions Ashgold will vie for the 2015 SIC Nyemitei SWAG Match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 29.
Kotoko are the highest winners of the SWAG Cup having won 19 out of the 35 times they have engaged in the annual competition.
