GHALCA Predicts Tough G6 Tournament
The much anticipated curtain raiser for the 2016 kicks off on January 7, 2016. The date to the start of the new Ghanaian football season is still unknown but teams competing in the inaugural First Trust G6 will take full advantage to get in shape after a long absence of domestic football.
The GFA president during the FA’s organised media soiree stated, “the ongoing legal battle between Techiman city, Tema Youth and Dreams FC is the sole reason why the league has not resumed but assured football fans the Ethics committee will sit and find a lasting solution.
The Vice chairman of the Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA), Isaac Koomson has promised fans of an even keener competitive league when the G6 competition kicks off at the Western regions. He called on football loving fans to patronise the G6 tourney and know how their teams will line up for the 2015/16 season on patronage as it will add vibe to the competition.
He said, “I can see an even keener competitive tournament than the premier league. The teams are ready for the tournament and you can see it ahead of the kick off tomorrow. The fans should come and add vibe to the competition”.
The maiden tourney is set to replace the traditional top four tournament and competing teams have been grouped into 3 teams each in group A (Hearts Of Oak, Aduana Stars and Medeama SC) and n group B (Kotoko, Ashgold and Berekum Chelsea).
