AFC Bournemouth have confirmed the departure of Ghana winger Christian Atsu after being recalled from his loan spell by Chelsea.
The 23-year-old joined the Cherries on a season-long loan agreement from the English champions in the summer.
But injuries have seen for former FC Porto man restricted to just two appearances for Eddie Howe’s side.
Atsu had to return to Chelsea late last year to undergo treatment to his latest injury setback only to return to Bournemouth to the news he is being recalled by his mother club.
“Everyone at Bournemouth wishes Ghana’s Christian Atsu the best of luck after he was recalled by Chelsea,” Bournemouth said in a statement.
The Ghana international is unlikely to be retained by the Blues who are already looking to ship him off once more again on loan.
Atsu joined Chelsea two seasons ago but is yet to make his debut.
He has since been farmed out on successive loan stints at Vitesse Arnhem and Everton before being shipped off on loan to Bournemouth where he failed to play a single game in the Premier League.
