Clubs Have Not Paid For Signing My Players - Abdul Salam

The president of New Edubiase Football Club Abdul Salam Yakubu has revealed that no club has fulfil it’s financial obligations for signing his players in the just ended local transfer window.

The Ashanti-regional based club sold about four of its core players due to financial constraints, but none of the clubs has paid for signing those players.

He added that the clubs not fulfilling their financial obligations has kept the team in a difficult situation and he is not certain he can guide the club in the upcoming Ghana Premier league season.

“We don’t have money to run and prepare the team for the league, there is no money. None of the teams we sold our players to like Ashantigold have fulfilled their financial obligations to us plus the money we were getting from the sponsors of the Premier League is not coming again,” Yakubu told Kumasi-based Ultimate FM.

Abdul Salam Yakubu also revealed that he’s ready to sell the club either outright or shares to any investor if anyone is interested.

“It’s a big headache now managing the club and I am even ready to sell New Edubiase Football Club to any investor who is interested. If there is any interested investor out there willing to buy even shares in the team I’m ready to sell,”  He said.

New Edubiase are one of the 16 teams preparing for the commencement of the Ghana Premier League which is set to start in February.

They will open their season campaign against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
