GHALCA/GFA Change Kotoko, Hearts Matches Time In First Trust G6
The maiden edition of the GHALCA First Trust G6 kicked off on Thursday at the Essipong sports stadium in the Western region. Ashaanti gold and Berekum Chelsea played the opening game to a not too disappointing but mildly entertaining fixture. Many chances were created by either side but both justified the absence of competitive game time as the attackers squandered all opportunities that came their way.
Accra Hearts of Oak players seat on the turf waiting for the resumption of the game after the floodlights at Essipong stadium went off.
The most anticipated game on match day 1 was between former league champions Accra Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars but the game failed to provide the fans goals to shout about but perhaps surprisingly or unexpectedly the most entertaining aspect of the game was when the floodlight failed to work.
On Wednesday, the National Sports Authority together with the organisers of the First Trust G6, GHALCA had tested the floodlight for almost three hours so was disappointing to have the light fail at the eleventh hour.

In a quick turn of event, the Ghana football association in conjunction with the Ghana league clubs association (GHALCA) on Friday published a change in time to matches for match day 2. The governing body of football in Ghana, GFA, want to put a halt to the embarrassment (of yesterday game involving Hearts and Aduana) and make the football the much focused event at the ongoing First Trust G6.
Accra Hearts will play their second game today at the same venue against Medeama SC at 3.45 pm whilst bitter rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko host Berekum Chelsea in their first match at 1.30 pm. The Berekum team will be playing their second game and will be in a much better shape than the Porcupine Warriors who are yet to play a competitive game.
Kotoko will becoming into game after scoring 5 – goals past Serbian side FK JAgodina in their first match of the new year.
