G-6: Hearts" Keeper Soulama Wins Man-Of-The-Match Despite Painful Loss To Medeama

Accra Heart of Oak’s goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye has been voted the match of the match in their 1-0 loss to SC Medeama in the G-6 Invitational Tournament played at the Essipong stadium on Friday afternoon.

Soulama by far was one of the most experienced players on the field on Friday and he showed it in his precise and timely tackles and saves most of who afforded the Phobians the chance of being in the game.

In the second half, he made two quick and beautiful saves, first from a free kick by Malik Akowuah and followed it up    with another brilliant block from the rebound. This drew the applause from the fans, even those of SC Medeama.

The goal he conceded came from a penalty caused by defender Phillip Boampong and there was little he could do to save the kick which was expertly converted by Malik Akowuah.

He becomes the first goalkeeper to in the man of the match award in all four matches played so far in the G-6 tournament, as the remaining three awards were picked up by outfield players.

He was presented with a plaque from the headline sponsors of the tournament First Trust Savings and Loans.
