Ghanaian striker Jonathan Opoku continued his fine form for promotion chasing VV Venlo with another goal in their home reverse to PSV II.
The Netherlands based attacker bagged his sixth goal of the season in a highly controversial 1-2 home defeat to PSV II in the Dutch second tier.
Opoku drew parity for his second place Venlo side only the visitors to snatch all three points with a 90 minutes spot kick from Vloet.
The in form Ghanaian forward missed the chance to put his paymasters into an early lead thanks to a combination of desperate defending and profligate shooting in the opening qurters of the game.
The former Oss and Veendam attacker however came to the rescue of his side with a goal on ths hour mark to cancel out Aleksander Bolijevic 9th minute opener for PSV II.
VV Venlo poured men forward in search of the much needed third goal of the night but were caught off guard as referee awarded a spot kick for the visitors on the stroke of full time.
Midfielder Rai Vloet kept his composure and sent Jordy Deckers in post for Venlo the wrong way to make it 1-2 for the visitors.
Series of complains from Jonathan Opoku got his name into the referee’s book moments after spot kick.
Opoku has since racked 6 goals for the second place VVV who could further drop to third if NAC Breda wins at Ajax II on Saturday.
