Kotoko Planned Well For Anniversary Match Against Jagodina

Kotoko Had Planned In Advance For Commemorative Match

Kotoko thrashed FK Jagodina of Serbia by 5-goals to nil on Sunday, but the scoreline and performance has not given Kotoko the publicity it deserves all because the Serbian club is believed to have come along with reserved players.

The Kumasi based side had settled on FK Jagodina after FC Veria of Greece pulled out due to commitment in the Greek Super lig.

The Serbian team arrived in Ghana on Saturday 2, January with only 11 players who are rumoured as non – first team members barely 24 hours before the clash with Kotoko and their performance on the day picking the ball 5 – times from their net has got many to believe the rumour relating to the players.

The 23 times Ghana premier league champions have dominated the media circus since Sunday and have been accused of paying little attention to the organisation of a game to celebrate such a great club’s history.

In a radio interview, Kotoko express writer, Jerome Otchere leaped to the defense of the club stating, “we had planned an anniversary game in advance but had no opponent in mind. The proposal from Pacific football Ghana limited was convincing, hence managements decision to hand over all arrangement relating to match to them (organisers).

“Kotoko should not be blamed and I disagree with people claiming the club should have been much involved in the organisation and preparation towards the game. Partially I think Kotoko might have done a bit better in preparations towards the game but wholly I disagree Kotoko should take all the blame, he added.
