Agent of Daniel Amartey, Hassan Cetinkaya has hinted the Ghana defender is likely to join a club in the Premier League as he now qualifies for an automatic work permit.
The 21-year-old is reportedly wanted by Liverpool and Leicester City with a move this January imminent.
There are also interests from clubs in Germany, France and Italy.
Amartey was expected to leave FC Copenhagen last summer with Olympique Marseille offering around $7m for his services.
The bid from the French club was however rejected with anticipated interests from club in England.
Amartey however did not meet the requirements for an automatic work permit in the summer.
This formed the main reason why the defender was unable to make the move to an English top flight side.
But his agent Hassan Cetinkaya has now revealed his client is more likely to make a move to England this term as he now meets the requirements to be issued a work permit.
“In the last window we had deals on small DKK 50 million (over $7m) from Marseille and Leicester. But then Daniel would not be able to obtain a work permit in England, and we said no to Marseille,” Hasan Cetinkaya said.
“We felt that it was good to stay a little longer. FCK had ambitions, so we said that we wait a little.
“However, we feel more and more that it is time to take the next step. And now he can also obtain a work permit in England.”
Amartey has grown to become a leading member of the Copenhagen squad and has made 44 league appearances for the side since arriving from Djurgardens in 2014.
