"My Son Felt Neglected By Hearts of Oak"-Ollenu"s Father

Nii Armah Ollenu, father of Accra Hearts of Oak’s Ollenu Ashittey has explained why his son sent in a contract termination request to the Club ahead of the new football season.

Last week the young shocked officials of Hearts of oak when he demanded that his contract to be terminated so as to join another Club ahead of the 2015/16 football season.

This request by the player was not approved by the Hearts Management in collaboration with the technical, thus, the player has returned to training.

But in an interview with footballcrusader.com, Nii Armah Ollenu mentioned that the decision by his son to cancel his contract with Hearts of Oak was a collective one.

“We all knew about it and even gave him the green light to put in the contract termination request. My son felt neglected and for once felt no motivation to play football anymore.”

“He got injured in the early weeks of last season and nobody in the Club came to visit or take care of him. My family and I did all we could to get him back on his feet and he returned to training.” But since then it’s ben up and down

“But since then it’s been up and down and he has not been playing too. We felt that they (Hearts of Oak) no longer needed his services o we wanted to cancel the remaining one left on his contract.”

He explained that everything has been resolved between his son and the Accra-based Club adding that his family is looking forward to a good season ahead.
