Former Ghana international Awudu Issaka has called on the Ghanaian media to promote and hype the domestic league if the falling standards in the top flight is to be arrested.
The FIFA Under 17 world Champion commended the local media for their continued effort at promoting the league but still urged them to devote more time for the players and the league on their platforms.
The one time global icon rallied the football family to project the image of the Ghanaian players to the outside world.
Awudu Issaka, dubbed as the darling boy in his peak period, pleaded with the press to flood the media circles with consistent reportage on the domestic league and its playing staff if the league is to reach the higher limits much craved for.
The 1995 FIFA U17 World champion tasked the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to partner with the top notch media practitioners to project and rejuvenate the sinking image of the Ghanaian top flight league.
“Nobody can project the image of our league except the Ghanaian media. They are the only gruop of people who can sell the image of the league and the players outside Ghana. They are doing a very good job alright but can still improve in a number of ways.
“If the GFA can partner with the hardworking journalists on one platform, I think the image of the league can be promoted as well. The media is a very strong tool used to publicise any sporting product”. Issaka told sports crusader exclusively.
The stylish attacking midfielder stormed the 1995 and 1997 editions of the FIFA U17 world championship but failed to blossom at the latter stages of his career. He was one of the Star players in the 1995 edition of the global juvenile soccer festival.
