President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Hon Nii Lante Vanderpuije as the new sports minister designate, taken from Dr Mustapha Ahmed who lasted less than ten months in charge.
The appointments were made on Tuesday with the former deputy local government minister returning to the realms of sports where he has played several roles.
Nii Lante, a former deputy minister at the Local Government will become the 8th sports minister under the NDC era after series of reshuffles at the sector.
The former GBC Sports sports broadcaster replaces Mustapha Ahmed, a dentist, who lasted only ten months in charge.
Dr. Mustapha Ahmed took over the post from Mahama Ayariga, who was removed after supervising the Black Stars campaign at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
