Tom Strand Names League Contenders Without Hearts.

Medeama SC boss Tom Stran has named clubs he believes will be fighting to for the Ghana Premier league title without Accra Hearts of Oak who has dominated the media headlines in the last few days with off the field issues.

The Dutch trainer has tipped Kumasi Asante Kotoko to be the summit of the league log fighting for the premier league title at the tail end of the  upcoming Ghana Premier league season.

The Porcupine Warriors has been a joy to watch in their pre-season friendlies and Tom Strand believes they are a side to watch when the season begins on February 20.

Kotoko also boasts of enough quality to compete in all fronts. The depth of the team is so deep that the technical team was able to divide it into two to play in two competitions — the GHALCA Six invitational tournament in Sekondi, and an international club friendly against Al Ittihad in Tripoli.

They’ve won three trophies in the off season,Tom Strand who led Medeama SC to defeat Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the MTN FA Cup  last year says they stand the chance to win back the Premier League crown they lost to AshGold last season.

He has seen the AshGold, Aduana Stars and tip both clubs to have run for the league title, but snubs out Hearts of Oak who has gone about seven years without any major silverware.

“Kotoko last year, they didn’t do well,” Tom Strand told Starr FM.

He added: “I have seen more of Kotoko and more Ashgold and of course Aduana has a strong team but Kotoko for me is the biggest opponent.”

Medeama SC have not won the Ghana Premier league crown  before and will hope to go all out to win their maiden league trophy.

They will also represent Ghana in CAF’s second flagship elite club competition, the CAF Confederation Cup.
