Transfer: Liverpool Target Barcelona Goal Keeper

Liverpool Interested In Signing German No.2

Liverpool have targeted former Borussia Moenchengladbach number and currently, Barcelona’s second choice goalie, Marc Andre Ter Stegen in a desperate effort to replace their inconsistent Belgium international, Simon Mignolet.

The German is not first-choice at the Nou Camp but while the Reds are willing to pay £12 million as doubts over Mignolet grows each week, Barca feel he’s worth £20 million and it is this price tag that has caused Liverpool to fear they could be priced out of a move.

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has identified the Germany international as a potential target this month, after being alerted to the 23-year-old’s availability due to lack of game time.

The Reds are prepared to offer £12 million, which would represent a small profit on the £10 million the current European champions paid Borussia Moenchengladbach for the player last year.

Ter Stegen has a buy-out clause in his contract of almost £65 million. While Blaugrana’s accept that figure is unrealistic, they are in no rush to sell the keeper who helped them win the Champions League last season.
