Wa All Stars defender Ismail Abdul Ganiu has promised to make the Wa Park a fortress for visiting teams when the 2016 season kicks off.
The Ghana youth international fired a verbal warning to the opposition teams at the Wa Park as they seek to lay a strong foundation at home.
The teen sensation has been touted as one of the finest centre backs in the country despite his preference for a full back position.
The former Wa Anokye Stars defender starred prominently at the back for Jimmy Corbblah’s men in their record breaking season that saw them end the season with 11 wins from 15 matches. The Wa All Stars vice captain however vowed to improve on that record in front of their teaming fans boosted by their new arrivals.
The ambidextrous utility defender has set sight on improving their poor away form if they are to seal a higher finish than their mid-table finish at the end of the season.
“We want to improve on our past performance both at home and away. We want to build on our last season home form whilst working on our away form too. The ambition of the team is to move to a different level with the help of the new players coming to the club.” Ganiu told sports crusader.
Wa All Stars lost only two matches at home( Liberty Professionals and Kpando Heart of Lions) in the 15 home matches honoured to set a new club record of 11 home wins in a season.
