Kumasi Asante has lined up Bechem United as a replacement after their friendly fixture against Medeama SC was cancelled.
Medeama SC announced that the club’s pre-season friendly against Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been cancelled earlier today.
The FA Cup holders had lined up a friendly against the Porcupine Warriors in Kumasi on Sunday January 31.
But the club later announced that the high profile friendly fixture against the record Ghana Premier league champions has been cancelled.
“We can confirm that our friendly against Kotoko has been cancelled,” a statement on the club’s official website, medeamaafmonline.com read.
It added that: “There are plans to to find a replacement and it will be would be announced in due course.
“We are preparing for the league and we’re confident that we’ll do well this season.” It said.
sportscrusader.com can confirm that Asante Kotoko has replaced the Tarkwa-based club with Bechem United.
As coaches put finishing touches to their teams ahead of the commencement of the new premier league season Kotoko has replaced Medeama SC with Bechem United who defeated Ashanti Gold last weekend.
The match will take place at the Baba Yara sports stadium on Sunday January 31.
The two side will clash again when they meet on Match Week twelve of the Ghana Premier league expected to commence on February 20.
