I’m Still A Columbus Crew Player – Afful
Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ghana first choice right back defender, Harrison Afful has cooled down talks of a move to Turkish side Mersin Idmanyurdu.
The 29-year-old Ghana defender played last season for MLS side Columbus Crew where he signed a one-year deal from Tunisian side Esperance, but dimitive defender has assured fans of the MLS side he owes his allegiance to them and the club.
Reports Ghanaian media suggested he will travel to Turkey to seal the deal on a free transfer. The deal will increase his wages thrice more than what he earns at MLS side Columbus Crew.
The former Fetteh Feyenoord defender said, “Those putting up those stories can’t be serious. I’m still a player of Columbus Crew. It was a short contract but I want to renew it.
Afful was a memeber for Columbus Crew during Eastern Conference finals but lost the MLS Cup final to compatriot, Adam Kwarasey’s Portland Timbers.
